Jay Li is a Salt Lake City-based creative from Atlanta examining poetics in design. Equipped with chef credos and stylistic crudo, he strives to be a “designer as cook”—steeping in others’ perspectives, deep research, and communal tradition to intimately serve and nourish people first.
Holding a sensitivity to the power of his mouth to invest, demand, and reinvigorate—something he figured out snacking late-night for Graphic Design and Advertising degrees at Boston University—he supplements a relational practice with authorship in print design, digital experiences, visual systems, branding and ad strategy. He currently works for the Utah Jazz as a designer.
He believes a designer’s greatest tools—like with all good cooks—are crafty hands and an intuitive tongue.
